Fuji Telecast and Production Company ("Fuji TV") We are the leader and the pioneer of Japanese television broadcasting throughout Northern California. Since our first telecast on February 20, 1972, we have offered consistent high-quality programming that has developed a regular loyal viewing audience. We have achieved popularity among Japanese and Japanese-Americans as well as non-Japanese speakers by having English subtitling added nearly all of our programs.
Our High-Quality Programming We have often received acclaim for our programming in such publications as the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Jose Mercury News. We brought the tremendously popular "Iron Chef" series to the U.S., complete with English subtitles. For over 30 years we have brought the "Taiga Drama" series - the most popular and highest quality Japanese historical dramas - to our viewers. During the New Year's holiday, we have continually aired the Red and White Singing Competition "Ko-Haku Uta Gassen" - the most highly anticipated Japanese program of the year.
Our Growing Audience Our ever-expanding audience has grown to over 200,000 households, including Japanese, non-Japanese Asians, and non-Asians. Our loyal viewers inform us that our English subtitles facilitate reciprocal lingual learning for both our English speaking and Japanese speaking audiences. Our ideal time slots - every weekday morning and during prime time on Saturday evenings - allow for the great exposure and viewer loyalty.
